PADEL UPDATE 10th July 2025
Great news - we are on our way!
Today we have appointed a contractor and paid the deposit for the courts themselves to be ordered. We have been frustrated in the past about timing, but we hope to start site clearance in August with the courts becoming avail\able in October.
Finance
Members offering to take out a £5,000 bond at 5% interest was a key to the decision to go ahead, and we had 22 members who made that pledge back in December 2023.
In calling in the loans, most have already paid, but 4 have contacted to say that for varying reasons they are not able to go ahead, and that is entirely understandable considering the offer was some 18 months ago..
However, there may well be people who were not involved back in 2023 who now would be happy to become involved, and we would really welcome another 4 people, maybe new members since 2025, who could step up.

For those new to the project, we are almost unique in "going it alone". Most Padel developments are backed by finance companies who take the bulk of the booking income for the first years.
These courts are ours, and all income will be ours to further develop the club. Please support the project and help the finances if you can.
