CAPTAINS REPORT 30-01-2025

Hi All

So that was January gone in a blink of an eye, and it was a good month for Heswall Squash club with all teams bar the 5th team comfortably placed in there leagues. It also means the club finals night has got a month closer so please start playing your competition games. I am going to start scratching games off soon if you haven't played at least your first round games. You have had ample time to play these games so please no complaining if you see your first round games missing from the charts. So please get a move on and play your comp games!

1ST TEAM:

Entertained Tattenhall 1 and I watched most of the games on the night and was extremely proud of seeing our guys led by there passionate captain Ritchie Mc put on a true example of how I want are teams to perform. Quality squash but most of all the effort was there in an abundance. Great wins for Mike Beecham, Captain Ritchie Mc and a quality performance from Tom Clarke who tells me hes in agony after every game of squash he plays after having his hip operation. Tom said at the start of the season he will only play if were struggling and has probably played more times than he has wanted. As captain Tom i can only Thank you but it is massively appreciated by us all at Heswall, a legend and a true warrior, oh and a great squash player as well.
I couldn't not mention the performance of Andy Corran either who put in 2 perfect games playing the best squash i have seen Andy play blowing away his opponent 11.1 and 11.3 in the first 2 games but just loosing 3 games to 2 overall a great performance from our first team.

Heswall 16 Tattenhall 9

2ND TEAM:

Made the long journey to Brookside a family built and owned squash club down in shropshire quite an experience were the father of the Pierpoint family converted an old barn in to a squash club. Great wins on the night for Captain Ryan Ghodrat Paul Metacalf and an awesome performance from Phil Clarke saw Heswall bring the points back home and keeps them firmly in the title race.

Brookside 11 Heswall 16

3rd Team:

Free week

4th Team:

Entertained high flying Tattenhall and again put on a performance that i was proud of. Captain Keith Armour leading his team by example won 3 games to nil and there was good wins for Ian Sadler and Ross Frisby. There was also great performances from Paul Grannon and Seb Gardner just getting beat in 5 setters. Seb played his sons mate a brilliant young squash player one to follow in the future hope he didn't brag to much to your son in the play ground Seb. Great win 4th team.

Heswall 18 Tattenhall 6

5TH TEAM:

Travelled in to Wales to play Holywell great effort by all the players Colin Winstanley just getting beat in a 5 setter and a good win again for Dave Whitcombe, however it wasn't enough on the night.
