Racketball Report Week 15

We had a four courts of racketball teams Tuesday evening. Great to see so much Racketball at the club. Our Racketeers hosted Crosby Nicks whilst Variety hosted Village Mixed. Meanwhile, captain Tom Clark took a strong side up to New Brighton to face The former Village Bromborough.

First out for our Racketeers was Kevin Ferguson at 5. Facing the daunting task of playing a HMRC tax inspector! Kevin, Mr 100%, wasted no time in sending him on his was with a 3-1 win. I've always liked Kevin. At 4, was me with an easy 3-0 win and my first donut delivered, despite threats of a foot fault from marker, Peter Barton. The reliable Paul Smith then grunted his was to a good 3-2 win at 3.

That left our top order, Matt Stapo and Peter Barton a free hit. Matt continued his outstanding record this season with a very good 3-1. Peter, then dismissed the skilful Jason Cunningham 3-0 with a very comprehensive performance. Racketeers win, 20-4.

57s had a tough trip to New Brighton. Tom Clark put up a good fight against Dave Loughlin but lost 3-1. Ged put in a great fight to take Chris Munn to five sets. Rob Wright at 5, claimed the only win of the night as the 57s lost 18-6 . Good haul of points for their efforts. Well done all.

Variety hosted the mixed team with Dan Parker out running Andreus Roos to claim an impressive 3-0 win, rumour has it, he's still not stopped! Mark Evans then dismissed Andy Baugh to put the Variety on the verge of victory. The returning Stephen Harrison at 3, took his game to 5 but came out on the wrong side. Rob Palmer and Tom Hulse couldn't muster up enough as Mixed took the match 14-8. Again some good points for all. Well done.

Player of the week was between Paul Smith and Peter Barton . Peter takes the accolade, a great game yet again. Well done.

Derby day next Tuesday at Racketeers face our 57s.

Please get your Open and Handicap games in.
